Dahlia

Why Dahlia?

Dahlias are available in an endless variety of colors (except blue), shapes and sizes, with no two blooms being the same, yet unpredictably beautiful nonetheless. The most popular forms are the Decorative, Cactus and Ball types. Flowers can be 2 inches to 10 inches wide ("dinner plate" size) and have a vase life of 3-5 days. Dahlias add striking color and sophistication to a room in mixed flower arrangements and on their own.

Tips from our experts

Dahlia stems are hollow, so handle these delicate flowers carefully to avoid stem breakage.
Process in a cooler: Remove any foliage that will be submerged, cut stems at an angle and hydrate flowers in water with a low sugar solution.
Change the water every day and re-cut stems every 2 days.
